After the betrayal of a childhood friend, Aradyra is imprisoned by magic beyond her knowledge beneath the ruins of a castle long since abandoned. She makes a deal with an outcasted mage to create an avatar and sets out to find a way to break her body free. After hundreds of years and numerous failed attempts, her journey leads her to the shifters of the Verik Pack.

Aradyra hides her changeling nature and infiltrates the pack as a wolf shifter to find the Sands rumored to break any enchantment. As old enemies resurface, Aradyra manipulates forces from the shadows to avoid her worlds colliding. The Verik Pack are facing challenges of their own with a famine tearing through the territory and the threat of war hovering in the north. Desperate for resources, the pack sends Aradyra and her friends on a mission they’re not expected to return from.

Unable to throw her enemies off for long, Aradyra must either find a way to break her body free and save herself or realize the life she’s working so hard for is right in front of her.

Unchanged is an adult dark fantasy novel with strong themes of friendship, loyalty, sacrifice, and fear with an emphasis on deep platonic relationships. It’s set in a world with magical creatures such as elves, dwarrow, shifters, changelings, vampires, wyverns, and dragons. The protagonist portrays traits such as Octavia Blake’s confidence (The 100), Ahsoka Tano’s determination (Star Wars The Clone Wars), and Neytiri’s rage (Avatar).  Unchanged is for fans of the intricate plot of Golden Son by Pierce Brown set in a fantasy world similar to Eragon by Christopher Paolini.
