Remember when I said I wanted to figure out a plan? 

Hehehe… Inspiration has struck! ’m very excited, but things are going to be changing for a bit.  

First, I cannot express how honored I am you’re reading this. The fact that you’re investing time into my writing journey really means a lot. Thank you. 

Second, I still have plenty of short stories to write and I still want to put them up for free on the blog, but I’m going to lock in on a few different projects before they become the main focus again. What does this mean? I’m going to continue posting WIP Wednesdays so you can keep up with updates, but I’m not sure about any additional posts. Good work takes time. 

So what am I going to be doing? 

Well, you see… it all started with a free publication submission call. Penstricken is a new journal that put out a fiction call for new and upcoming authors. I thought ‘Perfect, I’ll submit Tricksy!’

And then the questions started. If I ever wanted to publish Tricksy, would I be able to and would Kindle Unlimited allow something like that? The answer was yes, all rights revert back to me after publication (so I can publish it on my own), but no, KU probably wouldn’t allow it to be enrolled because of their exclusivity clause. 

So, did I want to publish Tricksy and the Of Becoming Series now or in the future? Yes. Yes, I want that option. I didn’t end up submitting a story. 

Also, an editor has accepted the Unchanged manuscript and has it slotted for mid to late November to start editing. I still need to finish another round of edits with that. 

Here’s what’s on my plate: Finishing UnFated, polishing Of Becoming, sending those short stories to a beta reader (plus another round of edits after that), sending those short stories to an editor (plus another round of edits after that), getting covers / art made for Of Becoming, and completing a round of edits with Unchanged

Here’s the goal: publish UnFated on the blog, publish Of Becoming on KDP / KU, and have a polished manuscript for Unchanged. 

Did I mention I want to do this by my birthday? January 19^th. 

It’s ambitious, I know. Mainly, I want to be able to set a publication date for Of Becoming by my birthday and have the other stuff done. I also need to pay for this, so I have a side project I’m working on to generate some additional income.

So if I’m not posting, it means I’m grinding. Every day I take a step forward, whether big or small. 

I’ve already made huge milestones. I started posting on social media and set up a website. I posted my first short story (OMEN). I submitted my first pitch. 

It’s all coming together, and I can’t wait to see where we go…
