Dewdrop

A drop of dew, much larger than I, clung to the plump raspberry.

I ran across the broad leaf. My tiny pixie wings helped lengthen my stride. Crouching down, I launched into the air and held my breath as I collided with the dewdrop. The water wobbled before swallowing me whole. The drop trailed down the berry bumps and tumbled to the ground. A blade of grass burst the bubble and cushioned my fall.

I laughed until all my breath was gone. Then flew up to do it all over again.
